Building Stronger Communities Baseline Monitoring Evaluation

The City Futures Research Centre was engaged by the NSW Department of Housing in early 2007 develop a monitoring and evaluation framework for the Building Stronger Communities initiative. The Building Stronger Communities program is an estate renewal program focusing on 18 estates across NSW. The framework mobilises a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies: an extensive community survey, administrative database and performance management data. The final framework was delivered in September 2007.

The City Futures Research Centre was successful in tendering for the baseline fieldwork and reporting for the Building Stronger Communities program in late 2007. Baseline activity commenced in January 2008 with the collection of over 1600 resident surveys and 75 key stakeholders involved with the planning and implementation of the strategy in each of the priority locations. The baseline monitoring report will be delivered in mid-2008.
